PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission terminal device and a data transmission method etc. for maintaining data transmission between terminals irrespective of the state of a clock signal correlated to transmission data packet. SOLUTION: The data transmission terminal device multiplexes an image data signal and another data signal to generate a data packet synchronized with a reference signal included in the image data signal, and relays the generated data packet to a transmission path. The apparatus is provided with a first packet generating means for multiplexing the image data signal and the other data signal to generate an image data packet, a second packet generating means for multiplexing the other data signal and dummy data to generate a dummy data packet, a clock monitoring means for monitoring a reference clock signal to generate a state indicating signal indicating the state of the signal, and an output relay means for switching between the image data packet and the dummy data packet in response to the state indicating signal and relaying the switched packet to a transmission path.
