PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a bar in which a number of portions to become sliders are arrayed, into individual sliders, which are in turn stored in a slider tray reliably and efficiently irrespective of the size and array pitch of the sliders. SOLUTION: A method of separating sliders has an adhesion step of adhering a bar 41 in which a number of portions to become sliders 42 are formed in a longitudinal direction thereof to a fixing surface of a cutting fixture 21 along a side surface thereof extending in the longitudinal direction; a cutting step of cutting the bar 41 adhered to the cutting fixture 21 into the individual sliders 42 along cut margins 43 provided between the portions to become the sliders 42; an adhesive force reducing step of reducing the adhesive force between the individual sliders 42 thus cut and the fixing surface; and a separating step of separating the sliders 42 having the reduced adhesive force from the cutting fixture 21 by pressing each slider 42 in a side surface direction substantially parallel to the fixing surface and substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
