PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display system of a virtual image display type, with which a user can satisfactorily view image information. SOLUTION: A display device for the information display system of the virtual image display type includes an image display section 6 for displaying image information, and a semi-transmission type optical element for reflecting light emitted by the image display section 6. The system is provided with a distance adjustment device 21 for adjusting a distance between the semi-transmission type optical element and the image display section 6 by moving the image display section 6 in relation to the semi-transmission type optical element. The distance adjustment device 21 has: a handler 23 disposed so as to be relatively displaced in relation to the image display section 6; and a moving device 24 for displacing the image display section 6 close to or apart from the semi-transmission type optical element when the handler 23 is relatively displaced in relation to the image display section 6.
