PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding type cellular phone formed so that a cover body case can be held in the condition wherein it is turned at 160°and 360°when opening/closing a folding type cellular phone. SOLUTION: A cellular phone main body 1 is structured by connecting the cover body case 4 to a main body case 2 through a hinge mechanism 5. The hinge mechanism 5 is structured of a main body side gear 10 and a cover side gear 11 to be integrally turned with the main body case 2 and the cover body case 4, gear shafts 20 and 21, to which each of the gears 11 are pivotally fitted by engaging, cam surfaces 12 and 13 formed in one side surface of the gears 10 and 11, an engaging cam 30 having cam surfaces 25 and 25, and a spring 40 for pushing the engaging cam 30 to the cam surfaces 12 and 13. The cover body case 4 is held by the hinge mechanism 5 in the condition wherein it is opened at 160°against the main body case 2, and, furthermore, held in the condition opend at 360°.
