PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a malfunction caused by, particularly many times of power-on of an HDD mounted on a digital duplicator and to enable replacement of the HDD at an adequate timing by monitoring the condition of the HDD by utilizing a SMART function installed in the HDD without requiring a dedicated hardware. SOLUTION: The number of times of power-on operations of an HDD in an image processor is checked. In the case where the number of times of power-on operations of the HDD is close to a limitation value when, particularly the image processor moves to a power saving mode (a sleet operation mode), the power saving mode is prohibited and a warning message is displayed on a display section.
