PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair which has sitting feeling similar to that of a normal chair and which can be folded to reduce its volume. SOLUTION: The wheelchair is provided with a cross bar mechanism by a long member 5 for folding a pair of right and left main frames 1 provided with driving wheels 2 and free wheel support mechanism 4 in a width direction. By putting a set 8 and a backrest 9 down into the gap of the main frame 1 in the state of folding them in a state of facing each other, the chair which has good sitting feeling, which is rigid and which can be folded to reduce its volume is realized.
