<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search device that provides good search efficiency and excellent operability. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of pieces of text information including sequences of characters, and content information about the text information is stored in a storage device. The content information stored in the storage device is displayed on a display device. Portions that a user has selected based on the content information displayed on the display device are received as partial content information (S401). The portions of the text information that correspond to the received partial content information are extracted from the storage device (S402). A search is made for the text information having details similar to details of the corresponding portions extracted (S403).
