<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap preform which can form a cap having excellent grip-ability and excellent open-ability, and further to provide its manufacturing method and a method for manufacturing a bottle can having a cap. <P>SOLUTION: The cap preform 1 has a top face portion 13 and a side surface portion 14 formed so as to almost vertically extend downward from the peripheral edge of the top face portion 13, The cap preform 1 is fitted on an opening portion 35 of the bottle can 2. Lubricant for improving the formability is applied on the outside surfaces of the top face portion 13 and the side surface portion 14. The hydrophile-lipophile balance HLB value of the lubricant is within the range from 4 to 10.
