<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus having an encryption device capable of enhancing copyright protection for received data. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a copyright protection identification section 4 for identifying whether the received data is a data protected by a copy right, and a copyright information management section 9 for managing copyright information acquired by the copyright protection identification section 4. An encryption key A generation section 6 generates an encryption key A based on a reproduction admitted number of times and a reproduction admitted rest number of times, and an encryption key B generation section 7 generates an encryption key B based on the reproduction admitted number of times and apparatus proper information.
