PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera in which even a device provided on an object side and a circuit or the like packaged on a video camera side are more small-sized and lightweight, operation by an object is also eliminated and a photographer can easily recognize the direction of the object. SOLUTION: In the video camera comprising a light receiving device capable of presenting information about the direction of an object to a photographer, an infrared light emitting device that emits infrared rays towards the video camera, is provided on the object side. The video camera then comprises the light receiving device of which the distal end portion is opened at least so that the opened distal end portion can be directionally aligned with an optical axis of the video camera, a detection means capable of receiving infrared rays emitted from the infrared light emitting device and made incident from the distal end portion of the light receiving device is provided on a rear end side of the light receiving device, and a notification means is provided for notifying information about presence/absence of infrared rays received by the detection means.
