PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original document processing device detecting an original document size even in an energy saving mode, and superior in operation convenience. SOLUTION: In the original document processing device 1, a sub control unit 7 whose electric power is supplied from a sub power source 8 is designed to activate original size detecting means 5 and storing means 6 after detecting an opening and closing operation of an original document cover 3 by original document cover opening closing detecting means 4, and to make the original document size detected by the original size detecting means 5 store into the storing means 6. And a main control unit 9 is designed to be supplied power from the main power unit 10 and activated by a main power control signal from the sub control unit 7 which is also power switching means 11, and to perform the original process according to the original size stored in the storing means 6.
