PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery residual charge detector with a small circuit area, having detection accuracy equal to that of a conventional battery residual charge detector. SOLUTION: This battery residual charge detector is equipped with a temperature zone detection part, an electric current zone detection part, and a capacity zone detection part. The temperature zone detection part detects the temperature of a battery to detect in which of temperature zones the detected temperature is included, the temperature zones being previously set temperature ranges. The current zone detection part detects a current through the battery to detect in which of current zones the detected current is included, the current zones being previously set current ranges. The capacity zone detection part has a plurality of tables for showing a relation between the voltage of the battery and the residual capacity zone of the battery, selects one table from among the plurality of tables correspondently to a temperature zone detected by the temperature zone detection part and to a current zone detected by the current zone detection part, and detects in which of the residual capacity zones an inputted battery voltage is included by using the selected table.
