PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a qualitative and quantitative analysis method of a sulfur compound contained in hydrocarbon low in detection lower limit and quantifying lower limit. SOLUTION: In the analyzing method of the sulfur compound, xenon gas is supplied as a collision gas in an amount of 0.05 mL/min or larger, when the sulfur compound contained in hydrocarbon is qualitatively analyzed and analyzed quantitatively by a gas chromatograph-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. Here, when the sulfur compound is benzothiophene and for a sulfur compound of which the molecular weight is larger than that of benzothiophene, it is preferable that the xenon gas be supplied as the collision gas in an amount of 0.10 mL/min or larger.
