PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam generator capable of stabilizing a temperature, reducing the stress (strain) caused by heat conductivity and expansion rate of a steam boiler, preventing breakdown and malfunction caused by noise in reading out an AD converter, and coping with difference in voltage outside the country and variation of voltage. SOLUTION: This steam generator comprises a power circuit for supplying a power source to a heater by a unit of time of integral multiple of 1/2 cycle of alternating current, one or more temperature sensors for measuring temperatures of one or both of the steam boiler and a transfer tube, a zero cross detecting circuit for detecting a timing when the alternating current becomes zero V, and a control circuit for controlling on/off of the output of a power circuit, and Joule heat generated in the heater for heating liquid is controlled by controlling the output of the power circuit by the control circuit on the basis of the information from the temperature sensor and the zero cross detecting circuit.
