PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit the number of times of writing in a nonvolatile memory when digital data are recorded in a recording medium. SOLUTION: In the recording device for recording digital data in the recording area of an optical disk, a plurality of recording areas are kept in the empty areas of the optical disk, one or more recovery areas are kept in the recording areas, writing digital data across the plurality of recording areas, and writing address information indicating a written area in one or more recovery areas.
