PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a rate of curve of an inverse shape of a magnetizing pattern by reducing a rate of curve of recording magnetic field intensity on a recording medium in order to correspond to high recording density of a magnetic recording apparatus, regarding a thin film magnetic head having a recording head part recording information on a recording medium with a vertical magnetic recording system and a reproducing head part reproducing information on the recording medium and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the thin film magnetic head 10 comprising a main magnetic pole part 1 applying a magnetic field of a vertical direction for a recording medium 3, and an auxiliary magnetic pole part 2 absorbing the magnetic field coming out the outside through the recording medium, and having a recording head part 11 recording information at an arbitrary position of the recording medium utilizing a magnetic circuit formed by the main magnetic pole part, the recording medium, and the auxiliary magnetic pole part, and a reproducing head part 12 reproducing information recorded at the arbitrary position of the recording medium, magnetic shield parts 7 being higher than film thickness of the main magnetic pole part are provided at both sides of a side wall of the main magnetic pole part.
