PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus which can easily cope with a specification corresponding to function identification information by using one common storage medium coping with various specifications and to provide the storage medium. SOLUTION: A memory card interface part 22 is a connection part for mounting a CF card 30 being an external storage medium which can freely be attached to and detached from facsimile compound equipment 1. The CF card 30 stores a firmware rewriting program 31 and firmware 32. The control part 10 reads the firmware rewriting program 31. When firmware update is received, an update necessary part and content of the update necessary part are specified on the basis of the received function identification information in the firmware 32 which is read from the CF card 30. Updated firmware where the content of the specified update necessary part is updated to the content corresponding to received function identification information is generated and the updated firmware is written into a flash memory 11.
