PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable printer whereby guide display to a user and state display of the apparatus can be exactly and fully carried out, the operability is improved, and also miniaturization and weight reduction of the apparatus can be realized. SOLUTION: An upper face of a body 1 is used as a display plate setting face of a rectangle where a display plate 2 is fitted. Guide parts 17 which support the display plate 2 set on the display plate setting face are formed at both front and rear sides of the display plate setting face. Electrode bodies for an organic EL disposed diagonally are set on the display plate setting face. The display plate set on the display plate setting face is a plate-like member with a face of a nearly identical shape to that of the display plate setting face where an organic EL element is formed at a transparent substrate of glass or the like.
