[Also in Division E1] The floatable vessel described in Specification 1,106,258 is provided with a plurality of mooring lines 4 connected to the vessel at or near the lower end of the column 1 and attached to anchorage points, and each mooring line extends over a support 6 connected to the superstructure 3 by slidable ring 8 and lifting cables 12. Displacement of the superstructure 3 along the column 1 assists in tensioning the mooring lines 4. The supports 6 may be either sprockets or toothed wheels in which case the mooring lines are either chain cables or studlink cables respectively. |
