<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression sleeve for wire splicing that makes it possible to reliably and smoothly splice two stranded wires for power transmission to enhance the efficiency of work. <P>SOLUTION: The compression sleeve for wire splicing is constructed of a cylinder body both the ends of which are open and a partitioning portion that partitions the internal space in the cylinder body into the space on one end side and that on the other end side. The cylinder body is so formed that the inner circumferential surfaces of both its ends are tapered. The sleeve is so designed that the cylinder body is plastically deformed in the radial direction to compress conductors, and stranded wires are thereby spliced together. The cylinder body is provided with three or four compression positions, at intervals in the axial direction, where conductors are compressed. These compression positions are provided in each of the first region on the one end side of the cylinder body relative to the partitioning portion and the second region on the other end side. The cylinder body is provided on its outer circumferential surface with marks by which the individual compression positions can be recognized. Only the compression positions closest to the open ends are set in the regions where the tapered inner circumferential surfaces are formed. A stranded wire is compressed in the compression positions in succession, first in those closest to the partitioning portion and last in those closest to the open ends. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
