<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more securely shorten a time needed to display image data recorded on a recording medium by effectively using the capacity of a buffer memory even if, for example, the number of planes of image data that the buffer memory can hold is relatively small. <P>SOLUTION: Image data which are possibly selected next are predicted from the selecting direction of a display image. At this time, the predicted image data are not actually written to the buffer memory, but only up to access to an address of a predicted image on the recording medium is completed as readout preparatory processing. Consequently, when the prediction is hit, a time up to display showing the readout preparations are made is shortened and even if the selecting direction of the image is contrary to the prediction, the selected image is held in the buffer memory without fail, thereby shortening the time needed to display the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
