PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having FAX and copy functions and the like, capable of receiving disaster prevention information on earthquakes, weather and the like by way of LAN and the Internet. SOLUTION: Weather information is stored in a weather distribution server 1 distributed from Meteorological Agency. Emergency earthquake quick reports from the Meteorological Agency and Real Time Earthquake Information Utilization Forum is stored in an emergency earthquake quick report distribution server 2. The disaster prevention information in these distribution servers 1 and 2 is transmitted to a printer 6 with disaster prevention information reception function by way of a distribution server 3 of an Internet provider and the internet 4 and LAN 5.
