PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for analyzing the structure of sugar complexes, by performing CID-MS<SP>n</SP>(CID: collision-induced dissociation) measurement on a sugar chain having an unknown structure, and by comparing the obtained data with the reference data already acquired. SOLUTION: In the method for analyzing the structure of a sugar chain, CID-MS<SP>n</SP>measurement is made, until a fragment ion, having a specified m/z is obtained for a target sugar complex (a), further CID-MS/MS measurement is conducted for the fragment ions, and a CID energy-dependent curve indicating the relation between the total number of daughter ions in the specified m/z obtained and the CID energy is produced (b), and the CID energy-dependent curve is compared with the CID energy dependent curve of the daughter ion having the same m/z as that of the aforementioned daughter ion, obtained by conducting CID-MS/MS measurement on the fragment ions, having the same m/z as those of the fragment ions obtained from a reference sugar chain whose structure is known already (c).
