PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaminobiphenyl derivative for obtaining a sensitive electrophotographic photoreceptor, and to provide a highly sensitive electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising the derivative. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the synthesis of the diaminobiphenyl derivative represented by formula (I), and to production of the electrophotographic photoreceptor containing the derivative.
