PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a control circuit by decreasing the number of driving outputs of the control circuit as compared with the number of nozzles at the time of ejecting a liquid drop of ink, or the like. SOLUTION: In the liquid drop ejector for ejecting a liquid drop from the nozzle 4 of a cavity unit 1 by varying the volume of a pressure chamber 5 filled with liquid by means of a cavity unit 1 through displacement of the active portion 20 of a piezoelectric actuator 2, the piezoelectric actuator 2 comprises a layer having a plurality of first electrodes 32 continuous across a plurality of columns and independent for each row at positions corresponding to respective pressure chambers 5 arranged in matrix of m×n (m and n are integers of 2 or above), a layer having a plurality of second electrodes 35 continuous across a plurality of rows and independent for each column at positions corresponding to respective pressure chambers 5, and a means for controlling a voltage being applied selectively to an arbitrary row of the first electrode 32 and an arbitrary column of the second electrode 35 and displacing the active portion 20 corresponding to the row and column for the pressure chamber 5.
