PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rivetting machine for forming the rivet head of a rivet by clamping a workpiece. SOLUTION: The upper ends of a plurality of parallel guide rods 14 are attached to a supporting member 11 provided on the lower portion of a spindle 7 in the rivetting machine. A workpiece clamping member 17 is provided such that it is guided by a plurality of the guide rods so as to vertically move and its lower surface is stopped at the position lower than the lower ends of a forming spindle when the lowering motion by downward pressing members 24 is stopped. In addition, a slider 27 is provided at the position facing to the upper surface of the clamping member so as to slide in the approaching and separating directions by the action of a cylinder. The upper end of a rod 30, which faces to the upper surface of the slider in the position approached to the supporting member at its lower end, is fixed to the supporting member.
