PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake throttle-valve control system of a diesel engine by which an engine output enough to continue operation of the engine can be ensured without providing a particular constitution. SOLUTION: In the control-system, a valve-travel (a valve-travel VA) of the intake throttle-valve is detected by a valve-travel sensor. In order to cause the valve-travel VA to agree with a command valve-travel, a feedback control is performed by controlling an electric motor for opening/closing the intake throttle-valve on the basis of the detected valve-travel VA. If the valve sensor is determined to be faulty, the feedback control is disabled, and the electric motor is forcedly driven (time t1-t5) so that the valve travel VA is maintained at least at a specified valve-travel.
