Fastening element (1) consists of middle part (2), mainly for fitting round roof tile (3) etc. First end (4) of middle part is shaped for securing on building part (5), e.g. roof rafter. Second end (6) of middle part secures solar module. Middle part is C-shaped with two shanks (7,8), which are spaced apart, with spacing increasing towards free end, preferably less than doubled. Connection of shanks is typically half-arc (27) shaped, with radius of more than triple of material thickness. Independent claims are included for assembly rail holding solar modules.
