The present invention refers to a novel method for the synthesis of polyalkyl vinyl ether (PVE), polysilyl vinyl ether (PSiVE), and poly vinylcarbazole polymers by means of the polymerization of polar monomers using a catalytic system consisting in a sandwich-like homogeneous titanium catalyst with the following general formula: LTiX3, [L= C5H5, C5Me5, C9H7; X= halogen, alkyl, alkoxy], and an alkyl aluminoxane cocatalyst. The structural characteristics of the polymers from the inventive method are different from those of traditional methods, thus originating stereoregular polymers enriched with syndiotactic, isotactic and heteroatactic arrangements. The invention particularly stresses the obtention of heteroatactic poly (ter-butyl vinyl ether) which total or partial hydrolysis leads to the obtention of a PVA with a structure different from that of commercial PVA. The molecular weights of PVE, PSiVE, and PVK are similar to those previously reported in literature.
