The heating device 1 contains two PTC heating elements 2 encased within an aluminium housing 4. A lower face of each heating element 2 is in contact with a contact sheet 3 whereby electrical energy is delivered to the heating elements 3. An upper face of each heating element 2 is in contact with an inner surface of the housing whereby heat from the heating element is transferred to the housing 4 by conductance. In order to electrically insulate the contact sheet 3 from the housing 4, an insulating sheet 5 is located between the lower face of contact sheet 3 and the housing 4, the insulating sheet being formed from a thin layer of silicone rubber.
