1,249,881. Cooling transducers. VIBROMETER A.G. 15 Nov., 1968 [29 Nov., 1967], No. 54320/68. Heading F4U. A transducer comprising a measuring device in a housing is interchangeably inserted in an adapter, the housing being cooled by direct contact with coolant supplied to the adapter. As illustrated, the housing 1 is inserted in an adapter 2 which is screwed to the cylinder head 3 of a compressor or an I.C. engine. Coolant ducts 11 and 12 allow the flow of coolant through a space 8 surrounding the housing 1. The space is sealed by rings 5, 6 and 13. The housing 1 may be apertured, Fig. 2 (not shown), so that coolant flows into direct contact with the measuring device. The adapter may be in two parts, Fig. 3 (not shown), which screw together to clamp the housing between them. The transducer may be inductive, capacitative, piezoelectric or ohmic. |
