There is provided an antenna device for use with a portable terminal, which can be used in different frequency bands by combining antenna characteristics. Whip antenna 1 is electrically connected to power feeder 3 through contact member 5, and resonates in a UHF band or higher when extended. Coiled antenna 2 is electrically connected to power feeder 3 through frequency filter 4 mounted on device board 10. Frequency filter 4 is set to a low impedance in a VHF band to supply electric power to coiled antenna 2. With this arrangement, external whip antenna 1 is excited in the UHF band or higher, and built-in coiled antenna 2 is mainly excited in the VHF band. The antenna device is thus capable of sending or receiving radio waves in a wide frequency band. |
