The circuit has a self-commutated half-bridge inverter with a series circuit of upper and lower electronic switches. A start capacitor (C3) is joined via a trigger component to a control electrode of the lower switch. An amplifier component (V1) has an output that is joined to the start capacitor for discharging the capacitor when a signal is applied to an input of the amplifier component.
