Aqueous suspensions of dyestuffs containing dispersing agents and dyestuff particles of sizes 5-10 microns (being substantially free from particles below 5 microns and above 10 microns) the particles being insoluble or substantially in water at room temperature at pH less than 5. Preferably the suspension contains 40% by weight of dye preferably an ortho - ortho - dihydroxy azo dye containing not more than one sulphonic acid group. Wool and superpolyamide fibres are dyed treating in acid solution followed by addition of the dyestuff the liquor then being raised to the boil.
