1,157,788. Pressure gauges. BENDIX CORP. June 27, 1968 [June 28, 1967], No. 30804/68. Heading G1L. In a rate of climb indicator in which a hollow diaphragm 14, connected through a linkage 38 to an indicator 40, 42, is contained within a sealed case 12 and is subjected internally, 16, to ambient atmospheric pressure through a main passage 18 and a branch passage 20, and externally, to the pressure in the interior 24 of the casing 12, the arrangement is such that an aneroid 50, provided with a snap acting wall 66, located in a valve chamber 26, moves a switching valve 44 at an altitude below 30,000 feet to close the end of a tube 34 leading to a temperature compensated capillary tube restrictor 30 (see U.S.A. Specification 2,159,703) and to subject the exterior of the case to the pressure from a temperature compensated porous diffusion restrictor 28 (see Specification 507, 990) and at an altitude above 30,000 feet the wall snap over in the other direction to close the end of the tube 32 leading to the restrictor 28 and open the end of the tube 34 leading to the restrictor 30.
|
