To fasten a flat display material (3) at a smooth and flat surface (1) e.g. a glass pane by an adhesive film (2), the adhesive film surface extends only around the edge of the flat sheet and outside it. A transparent backing sheet (4) covers the zone between the edges, held by the exposed adhesive film.
