An adhesive composition comprises a homogeneous mixture of an epoxy resin containing at least 2 epoxy groups per molecule, in amounts of 5 to 95% by weight of the mixture, and of a plastic sol copolymer of chloroprene and acrylonitrile whose acrylonitrile content is 5 to 25% by weight. The compositions may also contain organic solvents, hardening agents for polyepoxides the epoxy resin, curing agents for the copolymer and antioxidants. The epoxy resins specified are the reaction products of polyhydric phenols with polyhalohydrins, epihalohydrins or and epoxidized fatty esters. The following optional ingredients are specified or exemplified: methyl ethyl ketone, aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons, naphthenic petroleum, tri(dimethylaminomethyl) phenol, zinc and magnesium oxides and 4,41-thio-bis(2-t.-butyl-5- methylphenol). |
