The insulating strip (1) has two outer thermally-reflective layers (4, 6) or aluminium foil or metallised plastic covering the two main surfaces of an insulating core of (5) synthetic bubble material or wadding. At least one of the reflective layers has its long edge (8) set back from the edge (10) of the insulating core, leaving an exposed section of core for making an overlapping joint with the insulating layer of an adjacent strip. Variants of the design can be made with two bared edges or protruding sections of reflective material.
