PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize vehicle behavior by speed reduction operation of a driver; and to improve vehicle responsiveness after finishing the speed reduction operation. SOLUTION: This driving force control device has a front road state detecting means 14c for detecting a road state in front of a vehicle, a request deceleration calculating means 14d for determining request deceleration by the speed reduction operation of the driver, a target deceleration setting means 14i for setting target deceleration of the vehicle corresponding to its road state, a target shift stage setting means 14h for setting a shift stage of a transmission 3 to the speed stage side lower than the present as a target shift stage, and a driving force control performing condition determining means 14j for determining the necessity for performing driving force control by comparing the request deceleration with the target deceleration, and also has a shift stage control means 14b for shifting the transmission 3 to the target shift stage when the request deceleration is larger than the target deceleration, and a braking force control means 14a for controlling braking force of a braking force generating means so that a value of adding deceleration generated by a shift of its transmission 3 and deceleration by the braking force generating means for generating the braking force of the vehicle, becomes the request deceleration.
