PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor for a vehicle capable of restraining resonance of a rotary shaft in all rotating speeds, by supplying oil to an oil film damper in response to the rotating speed of the rotary shaft. SOLUTION: Both ends of the rotary shaft 11 are rotatably fixed to a housing 10 by bearings 13 and 14, and the oil film damper 15 as a vibration damping means is arranged in the bearing 13. The resonance of the rotary shaft 11 is restrained by supplying the oil to this oil film damper 15 in response to the rotating speed of the rotary shaft 11 from an oil pump 2 connected to the rotary shaft 11.
