PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently dry lug parts easy to be coated with a thick film of the whole surface of a coating film to prevent the contamination of a post precess with an undried coating solution. SOLUTION: In this drying method of the coating film 12 for drying the coating film 12 formed on a continuously traveling strip-like support 24 by coating the support 24 with the coating solution, at least the lug parts 12A easy to be coated with the thick film of the whole surface of the coating film 12 are irradiated with a laser beam from a laser beam irradiation means 14 and dried. In this case, the film thickness of each of the lug parts 12A after laser drying is measured and the laser output of the laser beam irradiation means is preferably subjected to feedback control so as to eliminate the shift of the measured value with a preset target value.
