PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multipurpose footwear dryer for removing destructive fungus in a footwear by generation of positive ions and drying the footwear in a wet state by the radiant heat by far-infrared rays. SOLUTION: This footwear sterilizing machine is constituted of: a planar heat generating body 10 including a carbon fiber heat generating sheet 12, a pair of electrodes impressing electricity to the carbon fiber heat generating sheet with their separated from each other, and an insulating member of an insulating material superposed on/under the sheet 12 and thermocompression bonded with each other at the edge parts; a soft housing 20 having a power input insertion hole formed in the lower end of the bottom and a positive ion generating substance insertion groove formed in the upper end, and formed with multiple annular recesses in the both side ends; an AC/DC converter 30 formed with a time display part and having a timer setting part; and a positive ion generating substance bonded and stored in the positive ion generating substance insertion groove with adhesive. This constitution can sterilize the footwear inside with ionized air and dry the footwear with the heat generated from the flat heat generating body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
