<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of providing information and an information providing system which realizes that relevant information, such as an article, etc., which a user wishes to have, can be perused easily by providing a communication terminal which has a connecting function, a camera function and an image receiving function which make a two-way communication possible on the user side. <P>SOLUTION: The communication terminal 10 operated by the user, and an information providing device 12 to which the communication terminal 10 is connected through a communication channel 14 is provided. When the user operates an input part 10a of the communication terminal 10, connects with the information providing device 12, and photographs the identifier 28 attached to the article, etc. by a camera part 10b, a moving image including the identifier 28 is transmitted to the information providing device from the communication terminal 10. The information providing device 12 searches an information storage part 24, and transmits identifier related information related to the same identification information as the identification information of the identifier 28 to the communication terminal 10.
