PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacity varying device for a scroll compressor for varying the capacity of refrigerant to be compressed by using high pressure in a sealed container. SOLUTION: The capacity varying device comprises a pressure control means for controlling pressure on the back face of a rotary scroll 40 which has rotating motion in engagement with a fixed scroll and a sealing varying means for varying a sealing region of a lap 42 of the rotary scroll 40 and a sealing region of a lap 42 of the fixed scroll 30 with a change in pressure working on the back face of the rotary scroll 40.
