PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a transmitter, and to extend the life of a battery. SOLUTION: In the tire air pressure monitoring device driven by a battery, a transmitter is attached to a vehicular tire, and a receiver receives an air pressure signal transmitted by radio from the transmitter and informs a driver of the signal. The transmitter determines whether a vehicle is during traveling or stopping by a motion sensor not shown. If it is determined that the vehicle is stopping, a radio transmitting frame is made to be shorter than that (a) under traveling like as (b) without changing a transmitting period, thereby reducing the power consumption of the transmitter and increasing the life of the battery.
