<p>A balance weight-less elevator apparatus enabling a reduction in the size of the hoistway of an elevator by minimizing spaces at the tip part and the pit part of the hoistway. The elevator apparatus comprises a car lifting in the hoistway of the elevator, drive pulleys or return pulleys installed at the tip part and the pit part of the hoistway, and main ropes wrapped around the drive pulleys or the return pulleys and having one end parts fitted to the car from the upper side of the car and the other end parts fitted to the car from the lower side of the car. Both end parts of the main ropes are fitted to one side-face of the car, and one end parts of the main ropes are fitted to one side-face lower part of the car from the upper side or the other end parts of the main ropes are fitted to one side-face upper part of the car from the lower side.</p> |
