The stacking column (1) for the storing or transporting of stored goods comprises a side wall (2) and ratchet levers (4.1-4.6). Transverse bolts (8.1-8.6) which are installed on the ratchet levers engage in gates (12.1-12.6) provided in the side wall and which limit the possible pivoting movements of the ratchet levers. The gates have undercuts (23.1-23.6) in the region corresponding to the ready-position of the ratchet levers, and the transverse bolts in the ready-position of the ratchet levers engage under pretensioning force in the undercuts.
