PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an engine generator stably outputting alternating voltage at predetermined frequency and reducing fuel consumption and noise of the engine generator without limiting minimum speed. SOLUTION: This control device controls engine speed NE to target engine speed NED by driving a throttle valve by an electric motor. Engine output OP is estimated (S18) based on throttle openingθTH and engine speed NE, the target engine speed NED is raised to a higher value (S28, S36) when engine output OP exceeds a first and a second rise threshold #OP12, #OP23. Reduction gear ratio r of CVT is changed (S82, S86) to adjust the output shaft rotation speed NOUT of CVT to be the predetermined target output shaft rotation speed NOUTD based on engine speed NE.
