<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EHA in which a motor, a pump, an actuator and a controller are integrated with one another, the EHA being capable of achieving compactness in size and weight. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator comprises a cylinder-type actuator body and a piston which slides in a cylinder of the actuator body. The actuator includes the motor, the pump for supplying fluid in accordance with rotation of the motor, the controller for controlling the rotation of the motor in accordance with the movement of the piston and a reservoir for regulating the amount of supply of the fluid corresponding to a difference in flow rate which occurs due to the movement of the piston. The inner diameter of the cylinder at a portion on the annulus side of the cylinder and out of the sliding backward movement position of a piston head of the piston, is increased. Further, the piston rod is arranged to be hollow.
