PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission capable of effectively suppressing an overstroke to the shift direction. SOLUTION: A cam 200 turns in accordance with turning of a control rod 140. A long diameter part 200a of the cam 200 moves among three positions of a neutral position 200a-1, a position 200a-2 of R, first speed, third speed or fifth speed, and a position 200a-3 of second speed, fourth speed or sixth speed. When the long diameter part 200a of the cam 200 moves to the position 200a-3 of the second speed, the fourth speed or the sixth speed, the long diameter part 200a is abutted to an abutting surface 2a provided on a transmission case 2, and the overstroke is suppressed. A neutral switch 210 is provided with a spherical abutting member 210a energized to the cam side by a spring on its end, the long diameter part 200a of the cam 200 pushes the abutting member 210a into the neutral switch 210 in accordance with turning of the control rod 140, and thereby, switching of the neutral switch 210 is carried out.
